Katie Markham takes center stage as one of the greatest singer-songwriters of our generation: Adele. Someone Like You – The Adele Songbook is a celebratory concert that recreates the wonderful magic of Adele’s three iconic albums.
Markham treats audiences to a stunning concert featuring Adele’s greatest hits: “Make You Feel My Love,” “Chasing Pavements,” “Rolling in the Deep,” “Someone Like You,” “Set Fire to the Rain,” “Skyfall,” and “Hello.”
The show also includes a series of hits that inspired Adele herself.
Markham was hand-picked by Adele on the BBC ADELE Special, hosted by Graham Norton. She has both the charisma and the stunning vocals to pull off this unforgettable tribute show.
The show, which runs 2.5 hours, will tour theatres across London, with stops in Hastings, Swindon, Essex, Blyth, Wolverhampton, Blackpool, Crawley, Swansea, Warwickshire and more. Dates are planned through November 2018.
English singer-songwriter Adele Laurie Blue Adkins started her career in 2006 when she signed a recording contract with XL Recordings. Adele was fresh out of school, having graduated from the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology. That same year, her friend posted her music on Myspace.
Adele would win the BBC Sound of 2008 poll and the Critics’ Choice award at the Brit Awards in 2007. Her first album, 19, was released in 2008, and reached critical and commercial success. The album went platinum seven times in the UK and three times in the US. It spawned the hit “Hometown Glory,” which she wrote at the age of 16.
Adele’s 2008 appearance on Saturday Night Live bolstered her career in the United States. One year later, she received two Grammy Awards: Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and Best New Artist.
Her second album, 21, surpassed the success of her debut album, earning her six Grammy Awards, including the award for Album of the Year. The album also earned her two Brit Awards, which included British Album of the Year.
The album spawned the hits “Someone Like You,” “Rolling in the Deep,” “Rumour Has It,” “Turning Tables,” and “Set Fire to the Rain.
21 earned Adele several mentions in the Guiness Book of World Records. She was the first female artist to have ten top 10 singles on the Hot 100 at the same time, and the first female singer to have two top-five albums on the Billboard 200. The album is the longest-running number one record by a solo female artist in UK and US chart history.
